History
Asuransi Bina Dana Arta (ABDA Insurance) (IDX: ABDA) is an insurance that was established in 1982.

PT Asuransi Bina Dana Arta Tbk. established and domiciled in Jakarta in accordance with the notarial deed of Kartini Mulyadi SH No.78 dated October 12, 1982. The company is engaged in the field of loss insurance with the type of coverage:

In the beginning, the company named PT Asuransi Bina Dharma Artha and in 1994 was changed to PT Dharmala Insurance Tbk. Since 1999, the company changed its name to PT Asuransi Bina Dana Arta Tbk., Also known as ABDA Insurance or ABDA Insurance. The company is currently located at Plaza ABDA, Jl. Jend. Sudirman Kav. 59 Jakarta and has 32 branch and marketing offices. In addition the company will also expand its network throughout Indonesia.

In 2004 precisely on December 15, 2004, PT Asuransi Bina Dana Arta Tbk. conducted a Right Issue so that the number of shares became 275,914,080 shares with a total value of Rp. 89,848,944,000. At the end of 2008, total own capital was Rp.118,810,079,000, which means that it had complied with the prevailing laws and regulations in which in 2014, equity capital was a minimum of Rp.100 billion.

The company first offered its shares on July 6, 1989 and was the first Loss Insurance Service Company to sell shares through the Jakarta and Surabaya Stock Exchanges. At present the number of listed shares is 275,914,080 shares with a total value of Rp. 89,848,944,000.

AXA Insurance was founded in 1988 under the name Permata Sunda Strait Insurance. In 1996, the insurance shares were acquired by AXA SA and its partner, Arya Mitra (Kalbe group), and changed its name to AXA Indonesia Insurance.
